after a longer than planned hiatus.
why so? a bit like that thing you do when you move into your first house and you want to decorate all the rooms at once. sounds good, yes, but not the best plan and certainly not the thing you want to be about if you have other things you want to be doing.
but, in the interim, distances finally moves into view and should be back from the printers next week. updates on what we’ll be doing with that will be on that page as we make up our minds. what was great was (aside form getting the money together) was being in the printers, seeing the machines, smelling the ink. we’re confident the wait will have been worth it and can’t wait to see the finished article.
these are straitened times however and no mistake. we’re lucky to be able to produce a book like distances but the simple fact of the matter is that the finished item won’t be cheap even keeping our margins to a minimum. what to do then? dip a toe into the world of kindle.
ebooks aren’t my favourite mode of reading but they don’t take up much in the way of space, are eminently portable and, in the case of slp0004, we wanted to make something that would be about the same price as a cup of coffee. so, a lazarus should be out some time around tomorrow.
will the formatting work? have i mastered anything regarding html? tomorrow will tell! it would be nice if we can make an actual physical version of this (and strawberries) but it’s unclear at the moment whether time will allow. watch this space.
