finally arrives from the printers after much to-ing and fro-ing by us. we still need to get an online ordering system figured out – i really don’t know how to do that paypal thing as yet but sometime soon…
but the final product looks great and we’re really happy with it. it’s been great to see the whole thing from start to finish even if, at times, the design part was finicky and sorting the money out was a pain. doing the print thing was our favourite – seeing the print machines, smelling the ink, that was something we weren’t expecting.
it isn’t cheap tho and it does make you wonder just how publishers and booksellers manage when their products are priced so low. perhaps that’s a mystery that will reveal itself in due course! that said, it’s been great fun and we can’t wait to take what we’ve learned with this project into whatever we do with the next one. so if you’ve ever mulled over the idea of making your own book – definitely, definitely do it. it’s totally worth it!
